Loke announces modern transportation hub Ipoh Sentral [23 Jan 2025]

A new modern transportation hub called Ipoh Sentral will be built behind the existing Ipoh Railway Station. Malay Mail

Divided into two phases:

  1. Phase 1 (2.55 hectares): Focus on upgrading landscape, pedestrian walkways, cycling paths, preserving heritage and places of worship, plus constructing a new mosque. Expected to be completed in 24 months (i.e. ~2 years). Malay Mail
  2. Phase 2 (24.7 hectares): Mixed-use development — serviced apartments, commercial spaces, a hotel, community facilities. This full phase is meant to take 20 years. Malay Mail.
    The Ipoh Railway Station itself will be preserved; there are heritage and historical importance considerations. Malay Mail

Land jurisdiction was initially a point of disagreement: the area is under federal “Railway Reserve Land,” while the state government wanted it under State Secretary Incorporated (SSI). They’ve reached an agreement to cooperate. Malay Mail

Perak MB: Lumut’s RGT3 project part of Perak’s job creation drive, will generate 3,000 jobs [7 Aug 2025]

RGT3 is Malaysia’s third gas regasification terminal, to be built in Lumut Maritime Industrial City (LuMIC) in Perak. Malay Mail

Ipoh Sentral project to boost tourism, jobs and sustainable mobility [16 Aug 2025]

KLK TechPark in Perak to generate RM3.5b over 10 years, anchored by BYD investment [12 Sept 2025]

Developed by KLK Land (a subsidiary of Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd), the KLK TechPark is an integrated industrial + residential development in Tanjong Malim, Perak. The Edge Malaysia+1

Total area is ~ 1,500 acres:

Development is planned to run from 2025 to 2035 (10 years). Malay Mail+1
